Membership Levels

Candidate Membership

An applicant who is accepted as a prospective member shall serve as a candidate member for a probationary period of three (3) months. During this period, the candidate shall be assessed for their commitment, conduct, and adherence to party principles. Candidate members do not possess full membership rights during this time.

Full Membership

Upon successful completion of the candidacy period, the candidate shall be evaluated by the authorized party body (e.g., the Organizational Department). If found qualified and endorsed, the individual shall be granted full membership, including all rights and obligations as outlined in the party’s constitution and regulations.

Contribute to the party through regular membership dues

1% of monthly net income

Members Without a Regular Income

Membership Eligibility Criteria

The following requirements must be fulfilled to become a member of the Tigray Independence Party.

1. Minimum Age

A member must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Acceptance of Party Ideals

A member must accept the party’s political program and bylaws and be committed to actively working for their implementation.

3. Moral Integrity and Responsibility

A member must possess the moral character to act responsibly and ethically in service of the party’s political mission.

4. Payment of Membership Fees

A member must pay the party membership fee as prescribed by the party’s regulations.

5. Legal Eligibility

A member must not be legally prohibited from joining or participating in a political party under applicable federal or regional laws.

6. Clarity on Dual Membership

If already affiliated with another political organization, the individual must fulfill any legal and party requirements for resolving such affiliation in accordance with the law.

7. Loyalty to the Cause of Tigray

A member must stand for the freedom, dignity, interests, and security of the people of Tigray and uphold the mission of the Tigray Independence Party.
