Dr. Dejen Mezgebe Abrha is a leading Tigrayan nationalist, public intellectual, and Chairman of the Tigray Independence Party (TIP). He currently serves as Deputy Speaker of the Tigray Interim Council and is an Assistant Professor at Mekelle University. With a PhD in Federalism and Governance Studies, Dr. Dejen offers deep academic insight into the structural failures of the Ethiopian empire—insight that reinforces his unwavering advocacy for Tigray’s right to full sovereignty through self-determination.

His political struggle has been instrumental in realizing and shaping the Tigray Interim Council as a transitional governing body that reflects the will and aspirations of the Tigrayan people. A founding member of TIP, he has played a pivotal role in articulating the political, legal, and moral foundations for an independent Tigrayan state.

Dr. Dejen stands at the intersection of scholarship and political struggle, bringing a rare blend of academic depth and principled leadership to the forefront of Tigray’s pursuit of dignity, justice, and statehood.

 Alemseged Aregay Gebru

Alemseged Aregay Gebru is a prominent Tigrayan nationalist, public health intellectual, and Vice Chairman and Head of Foreign Affairs of the Tigray Independence Party (TIP). He currently serves as Head of the Social Development and Recovery Standing Committee.

Mr. Alemseged is also a senior researcher and consultant in public health, with a particular focus on reproductive health (RH). From 2007 to 2021, he served as a lecturer and Assistant Professor of Public Health at Mekelle University, Ayder College of Health Sciences. Over the course of his academic career, he has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in respected international journals, contributing significantly to the field of public health.

A founding member of TIP, Mr. Alemseged has played a pivotal role in framing the political, legal, and moral arguments for an independent Tigrayan state. His deep understanding of the structural failures of the Ethiopian empire informs his unwavering commitment to the right of Tigray to self-determination and full sovereignty.

His leadership was instrumental in the formation and direction of the Tigray Interim Council, which serves as a transitional governing body representing the aspirations of the Tigrayan people. Standing at the intersection of scholarship and political activism, Mr. Alemseged brings a unique blend of academic rigor and principled leadership to the forefront of Tigray’s struggle for justice, dignity, and statehood.

Shewit Gebretsadakan

Shewit Gebretsadakan is a software engineer and college instructor. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Adama Science and Technology University. He is a founding member of the Tigray Independence Party (TIP) and currently serves as the Public Relations Officer. In this role, he manages the party’s communications and public outreach, supporting its goals and activities. Shewit is passionate about technology, education, and serving his community through both his professional and political work.

Gebreslassie Kiros Hailu

Gebreslassie Kiros Hailu is a university lecturer at Mekelle University. He currently serves as Vice Manager at Paradigm Center for Research, Consultancy & Training PLC. He also worked with the Inter Africa Group as consultant and researcher. He has held several key leadership roles at Mekelle University, including Head of the Department of Civic & Ethical Studies and Director of the Center for Citizenship & Public Service Ethics.

Gebreslassie holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Mekelle University and a second Master’s specializing in Human Rights from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in the Netherlands. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Civic & Ethical Education from Mekelle University.

Taame Hagos Gebru

Taame Hagos is Graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hawassa University. He has over 4 years of work experience in two different factories.

He is  a founding member of the Tigray Independence Party (TIP). For the past 10 years, he has been actively involved in Ethiopian politics, particularly in the Tigray region, with a focus on the struggle for full independence of Tigray. Currently, he serves as the head of the secretariat and executive affairs for the Tigray Independence party.

Additionally, for the past six months, he has been a member of the newly established Interim Council of Tigray. Though his passionate  is in science and technology, his political involvement and dedication to the cause of Tigray's independence.

Abel Gebremedhn  Hagos

Abel Holds B.A Both in Economics and Accounting. He also earned Master of Business administration. Abel is founder of Tip. He is founder social movement named "rise of axum" and different civil organizations. He has lead as board member in some of them. Currently he is manager at Bank.

Mehari Girmay Gebru (PHD)

Mehari earned his PhD in Ecology and Biodiversity Management from Addis Ababa University in 2021. He has spent 7 years working as a senior Environentalist at the Ministry of Mines in Ethiopia, and he is currently a Senior Researcher at Gullele Botanic Garden.

He is affiliated with several professional organizations, including SER, GSTS, BGCI, and GLI of Ethiopia. He is founder of CARES local NGO. Additionally, he serves as the Ambassador for elifie and is a member of the executive committee of the Biological Society of Ethiopia. He has authored approximately 11 articles and has been the Principal Investigator for five projects carried out in Tigray. He has also written three articles that have highlighted the Tigray Genocide since 2020.

He is the founder and a council member of the Tigray Independent Party, having designated as a candidate in the regional elections held in 2020. At present, he is the head of the party's diplomacy department. He is an enthusiastic Tigrayan scholar who strongly advocates for Tigray to become a republic.

Gebremedhin Romha Eshetu (DVM)

Dr. Gebremedhin Romha Eshetu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety at the College of Veterinary Sciences, Mekelle University. He holds a PhD in Veterinary Public Health and is widely recognized for his research and leadership in the fields of zoonotic disease control, food safety, and animal health in Ethiopia.

In addition to his academic career, Dr. Romha is a founding member and serves as the Head of the Political Affairs Department of the Tigray Independence Party—a political organization advocating for the self-determination and political sovereignty of the Tigray region. He plays an instrumental role in shaping the party's strategic vision, political education, and policy development.

His scholarly work includes studies on rabies prevention, antimicrobial residue monitoring, bovine tuberculosis, and traditional veterinary medicine. With over 600 citations, Dr. Romha's contributions are recognized both nationally and internationally. He remains committed to advancing public health through research, education, and civic engagement.

Mebrahtom Abraha Gebretnsae

Mebrahtom was born in 1968 E.C. He began his education at Wardya Metkel Primary School, completing Grade One. He then continued from Grade Two to Grade Six at Debregenet Primary School. From Grade Seven to Grade Ten, he attended Axum Comprehensive High School. After completing high school, he joined the Institute of Teacher Education. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He currently serves as a member of the Central Committee of the Tigray Independence Party.

Kalayu is a founding member Tigray Independence Party and Member of TIP council. ‎Kalayu Holds Masters of Degree In Accounting and Auditing at Axum Universty .He also earned Bachelor of Degree in Cooperative Accounti.g and Auditing from Mekele Universty. He is  founder social  and  different civil organisations . Currently he is manager at  Bank.

Alem Baraki Weldegiorgis (MSc)

Alem Baraki Weldegiorgis is a committed nationalist, public intellectual, and academician serving as the Deputy Chairman of the Audit and Inspection Committee of the Tigray Independence Party (TIP). He is also a dedicated lecturer at Mekelle University, where he imparts knowledge and inspires future generations.

Mr. Alem holds a Master’s degree in Engineering and is currently pursuing a PhD, further enhancing his expertise and academic contributions. His leadership experience is notable, having served in prominent roles such as Dean of a school at Mekelle University. Additionally, he has made significant contributions to strategic planning and development at university, regional, and federal levels, showcasing his ability to navigate complex institutional frameworks.

Recognized for his intellectual rigor and extensive reading, Mr. Alem has cultivated a multidisciplinary perspective, enabling him to address complex social, political, and economic challenges with nuanced insight. As he was a co-leader and active participant in the 'Medrek Natsinet’ (Freedom Forum) and the Forum Gedli Science, Technology, and Innovation, he has developed a profound understanding of nationalism and its intersections with innovation of transformative changes and societal progress.

Mr. Alem Baraki remains a committed advocate for Tigrayan independence and a thought leader in both academic and political spheres, driving meaningful change through his intellectual rigor and leadership.

Tewelde Haileslassie Hagos (MSc, BA)

Mr. Tewelde Haileslassie Hagos is the founder of the Tigray Independence Party and currently serves as the Chairperson of its Audit and Inspection Committee. In addition to his political role, he works as a Cost Controller in a private company.

Mr. Tewelde holds a Master of Science (MSc) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting and Finance. His professional expertise encompasses financial management and cost control, enhancing his expertise in fiscal oversight and strategic budgeting. Additionally, he is active participant in leadership and governance focused on political advocacy and organizational management.

Mr. Tewelde is recognized for his dedicated leadership and advocacy for efforts to promote the political, economic and national rights of the Tigrayan people, including his commitment to advocating and fighting for Tigray's full independence from Ethiopia.
